When setting up a PULL API Connector we are trying to get data from an external server. In order to do this, we have a number of choices / configurations to choose from:

HTTP Method: When setting up a PULL API Connector, you need to choose between the GET, PUT and POST HTTP methods. If you’re not sure which method to use, you will need to consult the system administrator of the server or service that you’re trying to send the data to.
URL: This is the URL that Grid’s server will try to get the data from.
Query Parameter: Sometimes, depending on the way the external server is set up, you might need to send additional parameters to the server with each API call. Using the Query Parameter’s Key / Value pair allows you to assign custom key/value pairs that will be sent with every call to the external server. You can add more query parameters by clicking the “Add Row” button.
Header: The header field allows you to send specific information in the header of the request being made to the external server. The default value is to add a “Content Type” field with the default value of “application/json”, which identifies the content type as JSON. While this is a standard field, it can be edited if your external server requires it to be. You can also add new fields of information to be included in the header by clicking the “Add Row” button.

Once the above fields are filled in, click the “Test Connection” button. The Grid server will attempt to make a connection, using the API details you just input into the form. If the details you entered are correct, you’ll see all the responses sent by the external server as a visualized tree structure in the “Response Body” box.

In order to proceed, you’ll now have to choose those responses you want to save, and designate specific columns of the current Worksheet that the responses will be saved under. Please note that you can only select responses which are leaf nodes. IE, the selected value should be either a number or string:

The “Response Body” box should contain a list of responses from the external server, each of which can be expanded by clicking the triangle indicator.
Expanding a response will show you all the data that the response provides.
Select the data that you wish to import by clicking the checkbox against the data item you want to import.
As soon as you select any data it should appear below the “Response Body” box.
You will notice that for each data item you have selected in the “Response Body” box, there is a corresponding “Column Name” field that has appeared. This field is a dropdown selector which shows the various columns that you have enabled in the Grid Worksheet that you’re working on.
For each data type that you want to import, you will have to select the column name under which the data will be filed, once it is fetched.
After you select all the data that you want to fetch and have assigned each data to a column name, you can click the “Save & Close” button to exit the configuration screen.
